I feel strongly about what is happening to the environment. I think that we got the message across effectively, the juxtaposition of filming in a beautiful environment right next to a road works well. If we don’t nip this environmental problem in the bud then we will end up paying for it further down the line. People argue that there is no evidence for global warming but whether there is or not the more recycling, reusing and less polluting we do the better. It doesn’t take much to minimise your carbon footprint so get doing it. Thank you for reading.

Life in plastic, it's fantastic...!

Did you know that the largest lake in the UK can be filled up with rubbish in 8 months? Did you know 16% of money you spend on product pays for its packaging, which ultimately ends up in the bin? Have you ever thought how long it takes for plastics to decompose? In fact, 500 years, so you won't see the impact of it. However, children of your children, future generations will see the worst of it. But it's still not late to make a difference. Yes, every little thing you do can make the big thing happen!

Now Britain uses 20 times more plastic than it did 50 years ago. However, only 22% of household rubbish is recycled, most of which goes straight into landfill. Only Britain alone uses 15 million plastic bottles a day. Have you heard that soon the world will be out of oil? Well, 8% of oil production goes into plastics. Nevertheless, only 7 % of total plastic waste is currently being recycled. Probably because plastic waste, such as plastic bottles most often become litter. For example, in 2003 in the UK virtually 57% of litter found on beaches was plastic.
However, you can make a big difference. Just by recycling plastic can bring loads of environmental benefits, such as
· reduction of energy consumption by two-thirds
· reduction of water usage by 90%
· reduction of carbon dioxide generation by 2,5 times

Save the world for your children, because life is a flower that needs to be well taken care of to be beautiful...

The plastic bottle problem.

In 2003, over 40 million plastic bottles were thrown away in America alone. Plastic takes over 1000 years to biodegrade, if at all, meaning that every bottle ever made is still here, taking up valuable landfill space and leaking harmful toxins into the ground. Plastic is essential a porous material, meaning that the toxins from it will leak out (including leaking into the liquids that it contains that you’re going to drink.) On top of this plastic bottles require 47 million gallons of oil each year just to produce them, which could be being used elsewhere, or better still, not used at all.

Video Production

What i found most interesting about this film was how we tried to implement recycling in it's production. for example, after filming the flower stop-start animation i just picked up the whole set and put it in the recycling bin as well as this the whole stop-start animation scene was created using a second hand, recycled digital camera!
